Heel Foam Dressing is a medical dressing designed for heel wound care.

Material and Structure
Material: Mainly made of polyurethane foam or polyurethane film.
Design: Shaped fit structure to match the heel and elbow shape.
Functional characteristics:
Exudate management: Absorbs medium to large amounts of exudate, prevents immersion of surrounding skin, and maintains a moist healing environment.
Pressure buffer: Disperses heel pressure through the foam layer to reduce the risk of pressure sores, especially for patients with long-term bed rest or vascular dysfunction.
Infection protection: The semi-permeable outer layer blocks bacterial invasion, and some models are waterproof, suitable for daily activities or postoperative care.
Promote healing: The moist environment accelerates the growth of granulation tissue, supports autolytic debridement, and reduces secondary injury when changing dressings.
Applicable scenarios
Pressure sore prevention: prevention of heel pressure sores in bedridden patients and treatment of stage I-II pressure sores.
Chronic ulcers: post-debridement protection of diabetic foot ulcers and lower limb venous ulcers.
Postoperative/trauma care: postoperative incisions, abrasions or superficial lacerations of the heel.

Contraindications and precautions
Contraindications: Dry eschar, severely infected suppurative or actively bleeding wounds.
Replacement frequency: When exudate exceeds the edge of the dressing by 1 cm or is contaminated, it needs to be handled promptly.

Product Material
Cushioning and Pressure Dispersion
The foam layer is soft and moderately flexible to cushion external pressure and reduce the risk of pressure ulcers in bony prominences (e.g. heel, elbow).
Fit and Flexibility
The polyurethane material conforms to the curved surface of the skin, and the self-adhesive design enhances fixation, making it suitable for use in areas of high joint mobility (e.g., the elbow).
Precautions for use
Avoid tension injury
Do not pull the dressing too tightly to prevent skin congestion, blistering or erosion.
Cut and overlap the edges of the dressing to adjust the angle of the active parts of the joints (e.g. heel, elbow), and reinforce with a bandage or sock if necessary.
